Frequently Asked Questions

Honest answers to common questions.

If your question isn't here, write to Bruce directly — he answers every email himself.

  1. 01 What does Eberst Wealth Management do?

Eberst Wealth Management is an independent wealth-management practice in Boca Raton, Florida, led by Bruce Eberst. We focus on three integrated areas: retirement income planning, investment management, and life insurance and legacy work. Bruce is a Wealth Management Advisor with LPL Financial, and the practice has been working with South Florida families for thirty years.

  2. 02 Where is your office?

Our office is at 7100 West Camino Real, Suite 302-21, Boca Raton, FL 33433. Visits are by appointment. You can also reach us by email at hello@eberstwealth.com or by phone at (561) 555-0100.

  3. 03 Is there an account minimum?

There is no hard minimum. We work best with clients who want an integrated, long-term planning relationship — typically pre-retirees and retirees in South Florida with meaningful retirement assets. We are happy to have a short, no-obligation conversation to determine whether we are the right fit for your situation.

  4. 04 How are fees structured?

Bruce is compensated through a combination of asset-based advisory fees on managed accounts (paid through LPL Financial), commissions on insurance products and certain securities products, and one-time planning fees for engagements that do not fit a managed-account structure. Specific fees are disclosed in advance and detailed in LPL Financial's Form ADV Part 2A and Customer Relationship Summary (Form CRS), both available on the LPL Financial website and our disclosures page.

  5. 05 Do you work with clients outside Florida?

Bruce can discuss and transact business with residents of the states in which he is properly registered or licensed. If you are outside Florida, please mention your state when you reach out and Bruce will let you know directly whether he is able to help.

  6. 06 What is the first step in working together?

A conversation. Reach Bruce by email or phone, and we will set up a discovery call — in person, by phone, or video, whichever you prefer. The first conversation is about your life and your numbers: what you have built, what you are trying to make work, and where your worries live. There is no obligation to continue, and we do not ask for documents until we both decide to keep talking.

  7. 07 How often will we meet once I am a client?

At least quarterly, and often more frequently. The cadence depends on what is happening in your life and in the markets. Bruce works directly with every client; you will always speak to Bruce, not a call center or a junior associate. Outside of formal reviews, we are reachable by email or phone whenever something comes up.

  8. 08 How do you think about annuities?

Honestly. Annuities can solve real problems — longevity risk and behavioral risk in particular — and they can also be sold to people who do not need them. Our practice is to recommend an annuity only when it earns its place: when it solves a problem we agreed to solve, when the cost is reasonable, and when the alternative of doing nothing has been compared against it.

  9. 09 How does the LPL Financial relationship work?

Bruce founded Eberst Wealth Management, Inc. (a Florida corporation, established in 2008) and operates the practice independently. Securities and advisory services are offered through LPL Financial, a registered investment advisor and broker-dealer (Member FINRA/SIPC), which provides clearing, custody, and supervisory infrastructure. Independent Advisor Alliance is the Office of Supervisory Jurisdiction within LPL that supervises the practice. Eberst Wealth Management, Inc. and Independent Advisor Alliance are separate entities from LPL Financial.

  10. 10 How can I verify Bruce's registration?

You can verify Bruce Eberst's registration on FINRA BrokerCheck at brokercheck.finra.org and on the SEC Investment Adviser Public Disclosure (IAPD) system at adviserinfo.sec.gov. His current registrations include FINRA Series 7, Series 6, Series 63, Series 31, and the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE).
